Meeting called to order at ?:45 P.M. Minutes of February 24,
1953 meeting were heard and approved as read.
Bills: On motion by Lindig, seconded by Lodahl, the following bills

Bill - Cess Bill for X322.00 Prom George Da Brush , 869 Front Street, St Paul,
pools, Idaho for complete Sob on cleaning the two cesspools on Pillage property
& Snelling at Idaho and Snelling, was considered separately. Clarence Rekstad,
being present, reported on the work involved, stating that muck
which had to be removed was 12 feet deep in one oeaspool and about
9 feet deep in the other; also that Da Bruaai went down 3 feet
deeper in one well snd two feet in the other, installing 3-foot
dry well rings. Rekstad pointed out that some work remained to
be done by DaBruszi, but that the X322.00 covered its completion.
Lindig then moved that $250.00 be paid on the Dees-pool bill,
pending completion of the Sob including black top work. seoonded
by Lodahl and motion curried unanimously.
Street bill Expenditure from 1953 allotment amounting to $?59.43 for street
work performed by the County du ring period January 26 to
February 25, 1953, was noted.

Rekstad On motion by Shavor, seconded by Lindig, the following
resolution resolution was adopted unanimously -
WHEREAS, Clarenoe Rekstad was elected to the office of Trustee
of the Pillage Council of the Village of Falcon Heights, and
served Prom January 1, 1950 until December 31, 1952, and
WHEREAS, during his term of office he has given generously of
his time and effort to matters affecting the Village, and
WHEREAS, he has taken a special interest in the organization
of a Village Parks and Playgrounds Department, in addition to
initiating and directing Village "Tenn-Age" recreational
activities,
NOW, THEREFOR, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Village Council of
the Village of Falcon Heights for themselves and the residents
of the Village, hereby expresses its appreci ation and thanks to
Clarenoe Rekstad for his services in the interest of the Village,
and that the Council present a copy of this resolution to him.
Presentation Mayor Henry on behalf of the Council. presented Mr. Rekstad, who
of resolution was present, with a copy of the resolution and thanked him for
his services in the interest of Faloon Heights.
Load Limit
Resolution On motion by Stewart, seconded by Henry, the following resolution
was introduced and adopted by a unanimous vote:
WHEREAS, the Village Council hereby finds that the streets and
highways in the Village will be seriously damaged by reason
of deterioration, rain, snow or climatic conditions unless the
use of vehicles thereon is restricted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that all streets in the Village
of Falcon Beets be posted under the provisions of Ordinance
No. 21 to provide that no vehicle having a gross wei g~xt on any
single axle exceeding three (3) tons may be driven on the streets
and highways in the Village on and aft®r Thursday, Maroh 12, 1953,
until .further notice.
Mileage - Fire Chief Swanson was asked for further information regarding
Fire Chief inspections made in Falcon Heights and Lauderdale in February,
totaling 407 miles. Swanson stated that the February insp actions
were necessary on account of the snow storm, also because of new
personnel in the department. After discussion, Swanson was asked
to clear with the Village Clerk for Council authorization before
exceeding the $12.50 per month mileage maximum in the fixture.

Sahifsky Letter of February 24, 1953, from Thomas A. Schifsy & Sons, relating
dump to use of their dump at 3980 North Victoria Street, was read.
The @DHrk was directed to write Schifsy & Sons, stating that the
Village does not operate a refuse collection service, and that if
refuse is being hauled from the Village to their dump by private
parties, that it is the privilege of T.A. Sohifsy & Sona to charge
and to make their own collection at the time for the service.

Fire Chief Letter of March 9, 1953 from Fire Chief Swanson, offering to attend
request Counoil meetings wher~eFire Department matters are discussed, with
the idea of answering qu estions i-9 as to avoid misunderstandings.
The clerk was instructed to acknowledge the letter as commendable
and to inform the Chief that his presenoe would be raga sated on
such matters whenever the Council deems it neoessary.
Regional Letters relating to the Twin Citi ~ area Regional Planning Conference
Planning of March 23, 1953, sponsored by the League of Minnesota Municipalities,
Conference were read and discussed with respect to attendance from Falcon Heights.

the March 10, 1953 meeting followed and were approved as read.

Barthel Joe Barthel, 1454 Roselawn Avenue, appeared bef ore the
Villas Council in connection with property he owns in Barthel
Villas. He was informed that before permit could be
authorised for building on his Barthel Villas property
that drainage facilities would have to be provided in a
manner satisfactory to the County Engineer. Mr. Barthel
indicated he would dfsouss the matter with the County
Engineer.
Salaries - Fire Chief Swanson's memo relating to expiration of
paid firemen 30-day probationary periods for Firemen Bertrand J. Slams
and Stanley P. Schultz, the former as of Maroh 18 and the
latter as of Maroh 19, 1953, was read. It was also stated
