Meeting called to order at 7:l~0 P.b2. and minutes of October 27, 1953,
meeting were heard and approved as read.
Bills: Lindig reported on his contact with the County Engineers office
regarding the unpaid item of ~2I~6.51, covering work performed in
September, 1952, on Idaho-Snelling spillway and on Simpson driveway.
The County Engineer's office informed him, he said, that the matter
should be handled with Mr. Crampton upon his return from a trip out
of town. Lindig was asked to retain all papers and to get in touch
with Crampton as soon as possible.
Bills: On motion by Lindig, seconded by Shavor, the following bills were ordered

Fire Inspections Recommendation concurred in by X11 members of the Fire
Lauderdale Department committee that the Village of Lauderdale
make their own fire inspections, provided they furnish
#i[~q~t~ai[ the information needed by our Fire Department
to protect our personnel and equipment. Henry then moved
concurrence with the Fire Department committee's recommen-
dation and that the Village of Lauderdale be requested by
the clerk to make its own inspections, beginning December 1,
1953, and to furnish our Fire Department with information
as stated in the committee's recommendation. Lindig seconded
and mo+.,ion carried unanimously.

Alley repair Letter of Oct. 27 from Mr. Douglas Rees and. letter of
back of November !~, 1953, from his attorney, ?dr. John G. Bouthilet,
Dry Cleaners in regard to repair of alley behind the dry cleaners.
After discussion, the clerk was requested to write i~r.
Aouthilet that in the past troublesome conditions in this
alley have been behind the dry cleaners, and if the Village
is forced to make alley repairs on an assessment basis
tha+„ substantially all of the assessment would be against
the business property.
Tax levy acknowledged
by County The clerk read. County Auditor's letter of Octot-er 28,
acknowledging the Falcon Heights levy in the to~Al amount
of l~19,385.00 plus a 1/2 mill levy for Firemen's Relief
Association, stating that to the above amounts will be
added a levy for the retirement of principal and interest
on debt of $5,700.00 in accordance with tax levy for debt
purposes on file in the County Auditor's office.
Fire run Papers relating to a bill of $22.00 against Mr. J. C.
charged to Scherbel, 338 West Robie Street, St Paul, covering volunteer
J.C. Scherbel firemen's services in connection with a fire run to
Scherbel's auto, way referred to the Villa ge Attorney.
Voting place and On motion by Stewart, seconded. by Lindig, the following
hours designated resolution was adopted by a unanimous vote:
R e s o l u t i o n-
BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Villageof
Falcon Heights, in accordance with Sec. 205.25, 4~.S.A., that
for the Annual Village Election, December 8, 1953, one voting
place, the Village Hall, 16t~t~ Larpen+~eur Avenue hest, be and
it hereby is designa+ed for both Village election districts;
namely, for election district No. 1, that portion of the
Village located west of the center line of Snelling Avenue,
and for election district No. 2, that portion of the Village
lying east of the center line of Snelling Avenue.
