PUHLIC HEARING, WEDNESDAY, NOV~~BER 17, 195-a
(Proposed. Fry street widening)
Present: George J. Shavor, Acting i~~ayor; Andrew Hustrulid, Trustee; David p.
Cartwright, Trustee. Clyde S. Stewart, Clerk
Absent: Robert E. Stenzinger, Mayor; William Olsen, Treasurer; Frank N. Graham,
Attorney.
The hearing on the proposed widening and future extension of Fry street
between Larpenteur Avenue and the North Line of Clapp Thomssen Maple Knoll Addition
extended, was declared open by the Clerk at 7:l~5 P.M. About 12 persons were in
attendance.
Notice of the Public Hearing, which had been posted and published as
directed by the council, was read for the information of all concerned. Copies
of the proposed Fry street plan were then passed around and discussed. At this
point (7:55 P.M.), Acting Mayor Shavor arrived and took over conduct of the .hearing.
The history of Fry street was discussed, along with reasons for the proposed
widening and its affect on the building line along the east side of Fry street.
Messrs. Ernest Weight, 1b87 fir. Larpen teur, sad Jack Steirnxorth, 1735 Fry street
and others took part in the discussion. Mr. R.H. Thomssen, of Clapp-Thomssen
Company, asked for assurance that the street plan would permit building on Lot 1,
Male Knoll Addition, and was advised that our attorney had recommended issuance
of such building. permit if the plans and placing of ~e house comply with our
ordinance.
No one else wishing to b e heard, and there being no objection to the plan,
the following resolution, on motion by Cartwright, seconded by Hustrulid, was
unanimously adopted, the Clerk being requested to certify a copy of the plan for
recording with the Register of Deeds as required by statute:
Resolution: RESOLVED, that the plan for the widening and future extension
of Fry street between 'Larpenteur Avenue and the North line of
Clapp Thomssen Paiaple Knoll Addition extended, be and it hereby is
adopted and approved as the official map of this area of the
Village of Falcon Heights, as set out in Sec, 471.28 of the
Minnesota statutes.
The hearing was then declared adjourned at 9:00 P.M.
