Lauderdale Trustee Shavor presented a letter proposing that fire protection standby fire charges to Lauderdale be based upon assessed valuations of protection Lauderdale and Falcon Heights. After discussion, Stewart moved that the letter be referred to our attorney for study and report. Seconded by Stenzinger and motion carried unanimously. Adjournment: On motion, the meeting adjourned at 11:It0 P.M. C Approved: PUBLIC HEARING, VIEDNESDAYx JUNE 8, 1955 (Norbert L. Hermes Rezoning Petition) The hearing was declared open at 7:00 P.N!., the following council members being present: Robert E. Stenzinger, Mayor; George J. Shavor, Trustee; Andrew Hustrulid, Trustee; David P. Cartwright, Trustee; Clyde J. Stewart, Clerk. Also present: Frank N. Graham, Attorney The Planning Commission's letter of June 8, 1955, relating to the petition of Norbert L. Hermes, requesting the rezoning of Lot 7 of ~'he Crosswoads from Residence District A to Business District, was read. The Commission stated that rezoning of the lot from Residence District A to Business Parking, with privilege of operating a temporary stand for flowers and plants in season does not, in the Commission's opinion, violate good planning principles. The Commission recommended that entrances and exit to this parking area be confined to the service drive so that cars will not discharge directly into Snelling avenue. The Commission also recommended that the request for rezoning be granted unless opposition is expressed at the hearing with valid reasons. The Mayor asked if anyone wished to be heard for or against the petition. F.D. Regn.#55 was ordered approved on motion by Cartwright, seconded by Hustrulid. Reqn. #56, Cartwright moved"approval, seconded by Hustrulid, and so Clerks ordered. Fireman Fire Chief Swanson's letter of June 5, 1955, was read, Schultz' certifying that S.P. Schultz, full-time fireman, had passed salary the necessary requirements under Sec. 7, Ordinance No. 31. increased After discussion, Cartwright moved that beginning with the last half of June, 1955, that salary of Fireman Stanley P. Schultz be increased to X285.00 per month as provided in Sec. 7 of Ordinance No. 31. Seconded by Hustrulid and motion carried unanimously. House trailer Letter of May 31, 1955 from J. K. Scott, 175l~ Arona, regard- parking permit ing his lb-foot house trailer and request to park it on his property at 1751 Arona, was read. and discussed. Cartwright moved that the Clerk be instructed to reply to Mr. Scott's letter, quoting Sec. 3, paragraph 5-27 of our building code ordinance, stating that the council is granting him permission to park his trailer as requested until further notice, with the understanding that the trailer cannot be used for residence purposes while so parked.
