Members present: Mayor Gehrz, Council members Harris, Kuettel, and Talbot, Finance Director Olson, Administrator Miller, and Assistant City Administrator/Deputy Clerk Kreuser. Members
absent: Council member Lindstrom.
Mayor Gehrz called the workshop to order at 6:30 p.m.
1. Discussion of Falcon Heights Personnel Policy
Assistant City Administrator/Deputy Clerk Kreuser began the item by stating the current policy was last amended in 1996. The draft policy would be updated by inclusion of current practices
in City Hall and mandated state and federal laws references. She added that Council member Harris, an employment attorney, had read the draft and made suggestions to Administrator Miller
regarding an acknowledgement page for employees to sign at hire, changing the sexual harassment policy to include all offensive behavior, reworking the probationary period, and FMLA
section.
The council went through the policy, page-by-page and asked questions regarding the draft. Staff will bring the policy to an agenda later this spring.
The assessment policy item, which was to be discussed, was tabled. The Council will retire to a workshop following the business meeting on February 14.
The workshop was adjourned at 8:20 p.m.
