• The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by Chair Brace.
Commissioner Treadwell moved to approve the minutes from the October 21,
1996 meeting. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Hanschen. The
motion passed unanimously.
Public hearing and consideration of an amendment to the zoning code
chapter 9 part 2.07 of the zoning code related to telecommunications
antennas.
Chair Brace introduced a public hearing and consideration of an amendment to
the zoning code related to telecommunications antennas. Administrator Hoyt
reviewed the proposed amendments to zoning code, which had been reviewed
by commissioners at the October 21 meeting. In sum, she reported that the
amendments do not permit free-standing towers. The amendments do permit
private antennas not to exceed 20 feet in all zoning districts and commercial
antennas on the city hall roof. City Attorney Ellen Sampson reported that the
proposed amendments were in keeping with the law and with other cities'
ordinances. Commissioner Brace opened the pubic hearing at 7:18 PM. There
being no one in attendance, Commissioner Brace closed the public hearing at
7:19 PM. Commissioner Groff suggested some wording changes.
• Commissioner Treadwell suggested that the section related to hand held
telephones and two way radio devices be removed from the ordinance because
• it was no longer relevant. Treadwell moved to approve the amendments to
chapter 9 part 2.07 of the zoning code with the noted changes. Commissioner
Groff seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
The commission decided to meet in January if there was no business requiring
immediate action for the December meeting.
Commissioner Wilcox moved to adjourn. The motion was seconded by
Commissioner Struck. The meeting was adjourned at 7:54 PM.
