HomeMy WebLinkAboutCCWkspMin_06Jul19City Council Budget Workshop July 19, 2006 City Hall Members Present: Council members Harris, Lindstrom, Kuettel, and Talbot, Mayor Gehrz, Administrator Miller, Finance Director Olson, Finance Intern Yard, Recreation Supervisor Anderson, Assistant City Administrator/Deputy Clerk Kreuser, and Parks and Public Works Director Hoag. The council discussed the City’s debt service funds. After a brief discussion on whether the City should pay off the debt on one bond, it was explained that because of arbitrage issues, the City would save money by not paying off the bond. The council next talked about the park programs. The council discussed the marketing and advertising done for 2006 as compared to 2007. The council asked for a separate balance on scholarships that were rewarded, and staff will provide it. The council moved on to discuss the community and economic development fund. Administrator Miller explained the transfer done in 2006 due to consulting fees in this area, and explained the lease monies produced f?rom BP. Next the council discussed the sanitary sewer fund. Staff recommended a $1.25 monthly increase in storm sewer fees; council will see this on an upcoming agenda. The next budget workshop will be held August 2 at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall.
