Finance Director Olson, Administrator Miller, Assistant City Administrator/Deputy Clerk Kreuser and Fire Chief Kurhajetz. Mayor Gehrz called the workshop to order at 6:30 p.m. Administrator
Miller began the meeting by giving a report on the 1666 Coffman TIF district and the surrounding development district. He said the City recently discovered proceeds from TIF can be used
within the development district for infrastructure projects. He added staff will investigate further and speak with auditors regarding using the TIF money for eligible projects. The
council moved on to discuss a new copy machine for City Hall including leasing a machine versus buying one. Administrator Miller explained the situation with the current machine and
the upcoming expiration on the lease for service. Staff has researched several options for a new mac?hine. The council agreed a new copier was warranted and instructed staff to continue
research. Chief Kurhajetz started the public safety section of the CIP by explaining the current utility pick-up truck would turn 20 years old in 2011, so a replacement is scheduled
for 2008. He also agreed to strike the $2,500 in 2007 for a washer/dryer in the fire department, as there is no room in their facility for these appliances. Administrator Miller began
the parks/recreation portion of the CIP, explaining the Community Park lease is up in 2008, and no major capital projects would be undertaken until the lease renewed. Miller said some
areas of the City Hall office will be re-carpeted and painted beginning in early 2007. Miller then explained that forestry-related expenses, including trimming, removal and planting
and excluding personnel-related costs, would be moved to the CIP. Miller and Parks and Public Works Director Hoag also discussed the elimination of $175,000 for a skating rink at the
elementary school. The The council agreed it was wise to hold off on the rink construction until the future of Community Park was known. On the infrastructure plan, Miller and Hoag discussed
with the council the Maple Knoll improvements slated for 2007. Miller also reminded the council of their request to re-evaluate the City’s assessment policy. The workshop was adjourned
