CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS
COUNCIL RESOLUTION
Date: April 9, 1997
RESOLUTION ORDERING THE BIDDING OF THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR
PHASE 1 AND PHASE 2 OF THE LARPENTEUR AVENUE STREETSCAPE PROJECT

WHEREAS, the Hoisington Koegler Group has prepared plans and specifications for the Larpenteur
Avenue streetscape project;
WHEREAS, the plans and specifications for the landscaping, lighting and sidewalks, and signs for
the Larpenteur Avenue streetscape project are completed;
WHEREAS, the county is commencing with the reconstruction of Larpenteur in 1997 and is moving
ahead with plans for work in 1998;
WHEREAS, the city wants to coordinate phase 1 and phase 2 of the streetscape improvements with
the county road reconstruction in 1997 and 1998;
WHEREAS, the plans and specifications require bidding in three bid packages, including landscaping
as Bid Package A, the lighting and sidewalks as Bid Package B and the signs as Bid Package C;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the city council of Falcon Heights, Minnesota:
The plans and specifications for landscaping, lighting and sidewalks and signs in phase 1 and phase
2 are termed bid package A, landscaping, bid package B, lighting and sidewalk, and bid package
C, signs, and are made part of this and are approved by the city council.

2. The city clerk shall prepare and have published an advertisement for bids for making these
improvements in the official paper and in The Construction Bulletin. The bids for package A, the
bids for package B and the bids for package C shall be opened on May 7 at 4 PM at city hall, 2077
West Larpenteur Avenue. The bids shall be considered by the city council on May 14, 1997, at
7:00 PM at the city council chambers, 2077 West Larpenteur Avenue. Any bidder whose
responsibility is questioned during the consideration of the bid will be given an opportunity
to address the issue of responsibility. No bids will be considered unless sealed and filed
with the clerk of city engineer and accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier's check, bid bond
or certified check payable to the clerk for five per cent of the amount of such bid.
