COUNCIL RESOLUTION

A RESOLUTION GRANTING A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR ADDITIONAL SIGN AREA
AT 1795 HOLTON STREET
WHEREAS, the City of Falcon Heights received an application on behalf of Falcon
Heights United Church of Christ for the construction of an additional ground sign; and
WHEREAS, the city code allows churches to have a maximum of 50 square feet of
sign area per property, but allows additional sign area with the issuance of a conditional use
permit; and
WHEREAS, the city council did carefully consider the request as well as the
recommendations made by the city's planning commission after holding the required public
hearing; and
• WHEREAS, it was determined that the conditional use permit meets all the general
and specific requirements set forth in Chapter 9-15.04 subd. 3 (a) of the zoning code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the city council of the City of Falcon
Heights that a conditional use permit be issued for additional sign area at 1795 Holton Street
subject to the following conditions:
1. The sign area shall not exceed 12 square feet and shall maintain a clearance
of 18" above the ground at all times.
2. The sign shall be kept in a state of good repair.
3. Should this property cease to be used as a church or a school, the conditional
use permit shall be null and void and the sign shall be removed if not in
compliance with the sign requirements for the new use.
