A RESOLUTION GRANTING A VARIANCE FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A GARAGE AT 1804 TATUM
WHEREAS, on October 27, 1993, the Falcon Heights city council
reviewed a request from property owners Curt and Meredith Stockford, 1804
Tatum St., for a 2 ft. 8 inch variance from the required 5 ft. sideyard
setback for construction of a new garage; and
WHEREAS, the city council made the following findings for approving
the granting of the variance:
a. That the amendment to the variance will not be detrimental
to the public welfare;
b. That the amendment to the variance will not substantially
diminish or impair property values or improvements in the area;
• c. That the amendment to the variance is necessary for the
preservation and enjoyment of substantial property rights;
d. That the amended variance will not impair an adequate supply
of light and air to adjacent property;
e. That the amended variance will not impair the orderly use
of the public streets; and•
f. That the amended variance will not increase the danger of
fire or endanger the public safety.
g. That the amended variance will permit the property owner to
retain a large maple tree to the south of the proposed garage.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of
Falcon Heights that the variance be granted as requested.
