HomeMy WebLinkAboutCCRes_90-19• No. R-9D-19 CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS C O U N C I L R E S O L U T I O N Date April 25, 1990 A RESOLUTION PROPOSING A COMBINED WORKSHOP WITH THE ROSEVILLE CITY COUNCIL TO EXPLORE AREAS OF MUTUAL STRATEGIC INTEREST WHEREAS, the Cities of Falcon Heights and Roseville are very similar geographically and demographically, and WHEREAS, the two cities share historical roots in the old Rose Township, and WHEREAS, the two cities share interests in many other local public and private organizations such as the Roseville Area School District, Northwest Suburban Youth Services, the Roseville-Falcon Heights Chapter of the Suburban Area Chamber of Commerce, and WHEREAS, the two cities share similar histories of responsible management and are in sound financial condition, and WHEREAS, the two cities have experienced mutual benefits through previous • cooperative efforts such as the recently executed police service contract, and several road construction projects affecting both cities, and WHEREAS, the two cities may be able to achieve cost savings and/or service improvements through economies of scale which may result from increased cooperation, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Falcon Heights City Council invites the Roseville City Council to join in a cooperative effort to explore areas of strategic interest with potential mutual benefit, and --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Moved by Jacobs Approved by 1G''~~ ~//~~- Mayor April 25, 1990 YEAS 5 Nays D to /$ALDWI~t 5 ~ ~ ~ '~~ ~IERNIA in Favor Attested by ~~'` ~ _ ~GEHRZ City Clerk ~1ALLIN 0 Against April 25, 1990 ,dACOBS Date Adopted by Council April 25, 1990 • Page 2 Resolution R-90-19 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Falcon Heights City Administration be authorized to identify alternative strategies for studying potential cooperative efforts, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Roseville City Council be invited to join the Falcon Heights City Council in a combined City Council workshop as soon as it can be scheduled to discuss the scope and strategy for the study, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Falcon Heights City Council requests the Roseville City Council to authorize its administrative staff to work with the Falcon Heights staff in identifying options for the councils to consider. •
