A RESOLUTION RELATING TO WILLIAMS PIPELINE COMPANY AND THE UNITED
STATES DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, OFFICE OF PIPELINE SAFETY
WHEREAS, an underground pipeline owned by Williams Pipeline Company
is located in residential areas of the Metropolitan Twin Cities Area and
its suburbs; and
WHEREAS, on July 8th at approximately 4:21 a.m. said pipeline ruptured
and caused an explosion which resulted in injury and death of two residents
in the City of Moundsview, plus property damage.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of Falcon Heights
supports the City of Moundsview in it's endeavors and requests the United
States Department of Transportation, Office of Pipeline Safety, to require
Williams Pipeline Company to perform more stringent tests of the pipeline,
including all lines within the Metropolitan Twin City area.
