A RESOLUTION RELATING TO REQUESTING SENATOR NEIL DIETERICH AND
REPRESENTATIVE JOHN ROSE CONSIDER THE RECOMMENDATION CONTAINED
IN THE 1986 REPORT OF THE STATE SHADE TREE ADVISORY COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, the City of Falcon Heights is proud of the appearance of the
trees in the City and is interested in insuring the continued health and beauty
of the trees, and
WHEREAS, the Minnesota State Shade Tree Advisory Committee has prepared
its 1986 Report to the Minnesota Legislature and to the departments of the
State government outlining a proposed cooperative four-department program
for expanded assistance by the State of Minnesota to communities such as Falcon
Heights in dealing with the present problems and in preventing future problems,
and
WHEREAS, the members of the City Council of the City of Falcon Heights
have reviewed the Report of the State Shade Tree Advisory Committee and generally
agree both with the reasoning presented in the Report and the conclusions and
recommendations made by the Committee, and the members of the City Council believe
• that the. programs recommended in the Report would be beneficial to the City of
Falcon Heights and would probably be beneficial to other communities of Minnesota.
NOW, THEREORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of Falcon Heights hereby
respectfully requests the Honorable Senator Neil Dieterich and the Honorable
Representative John Rose to consider the recommendations contained in the 1986
Report of the State Shade Tree Advisory Committee and to act favorably on such
recommendations.
