HomeMy WebLinkAboutCCRes_75-17CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Falcon Heights, Minnesota, was held on the 10th day of July, 1975• The following members were present: Mayor v3arkentien, Councilmen Black, Steele, and Iabalestra, and the following was absent: Councilman Ecklund. Councilman Steele introduced the following Resolution, and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION #75-17 A RESbLUTION ADOPTING GRANGES TO THE PROPOSED ~~OPr~l MEETING LAw~~ AS SUBMITTED TO THE LEGISLATURE BY THE LEAGUE OF MINNESOTA P~IUNICIPALITIES W'~~EREAS, the City of Falcon Heights supports the intent of the ~~Open Meeting Law~~ which is to have the public business conducted openly so that the public can be informed of the decisions and actions being taken, and WHEREAS, nevertheless there are certain matters of a confidential nature whch may not be in the public interest at a particular time to disclose publicly, and ~~ ~ S, the Attorney General hab s°endered an opi.~sion which appears to be more restrictive than the legislature intended. NOW, TKEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City Council of the City of Falcon Heights respectfully urge the Minnesota State Legislature to consider changes in the open meeting law as proposed in the legislation submitted by the League of Minnesota Municipalities, and BE IT FUxTHER RESOLV.Ell, that copies of this Resolution be transmitted to the Governor of the State of Minnesota, Members of the State Legislature, and the League of Minnesota Municipalities. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Councilman Labalestra, and upon a vote being taken, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, Steele, and Labalestra, and the following voted against the same: None.
