HomeMy WebLinkAboutCCRes_75-32i CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS RESOLUTION NO. 75-32 The following Resolution was introduced at the Regular Council meeting for the City of Falcon Heights on November l3, 1975: RESOLUTION CHANGING THE PRECINCT POLLING PLACE FOR PRECINCT N.O. 4 OF THE CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS WHEREAS, the City Council has the power pursuant to Minn. Stat, ~ 203.09 to designate the polling place for each precinct within a municipality; and WHEREAS, the polling place for Precinct No. 4 i has for some time been located in a greenhouse owned by the University of Minnesota near the intersection of Cleveland and Larpenteur in Precinct No. 4 in the City of Falcon Heights; and WHEREAS, the physical facilities in the present precinct polling place are inadequate and may not be in accordance with present state law; and WHEREAS, the City Council appointed a committee to study a more suitable polling place for Precinct 4 within the City of Falcon Heights, which committee made certain recommendations to the Council; and WHEREAS, the appointed committee and the members of the Council are of the opinion that the appropriate • polling place for Precinct No. 4 should be in the Commonwealth Terrace Community Center, located at 1250 Fifield Avenue . in Precinct 4 in the City of Falcon Heights. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of .the City of Falcon Heights hereby changes the polling place for Precinct No. 4 of the City of Falcon Heights from the greenhouse near the intersection of Larpenteur and Cleveland to the Commonwealth Terrace Community Center, located at 1250 Fifield Avenue, City of Falcon Heights, Minnesota, The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was made by member Ecklund, and seconded by Mayor Warkentien and upon the vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Warkentien, members Black, Ecklund, Steele and Labalestra, and the following voted against: None.
