Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council
of the City of Falcon Heights, I~Tinnesota was held on the 21~th day of March, 1977.
• The following members were present: Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black,
Ecklund, Steele and Labalestra and the following members were absent: None.
Councilman Ecklund introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption.
RESOLUTION N0, 77-13
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE NORTH SUBURBAN
CRIME PREVENTION AND CRI'~NAL APPREHENSION
FUND
ti••d'HE,~EAS, the Ramsey County Sheriff ~ s Department has recommended to ~he City
Council that the City approve a program designated as the North Suburban Area Crime
Prevention and Criminal Apprehension Fund;
'vJIIEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that such a program will be in the
best interests of the citizens of the City of Falcon Heights in that it has proven
to be an effective means of fighting crime in other municipalities adopting similar
programs; and
~G~"~TEREAS, the financing for such a program has been guaranteed by the North
Suburban Chamber of Commerce and other civic organizations without any cost to the
City of Falcon Heights.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Falcon
• Heights, Minnesota that the City Council approved adoption of the North Suburban
Area Crime Prevention Fund, a proposed private non-profit corporation, funding,
among other things:
1. A code-a-phone by a designated Police Department to be used for the re-
ceipt of tips from confidential informants and the issuance of code numbers to
such informants;
2. Dissemination of information received from such informants to other law
enforcement agencies; and
3. Providing financial regards to informants for information leading to the
arrest and conviction of criminals.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by
Mayor Warkentien and upon a vote being taken the following voted in favor of the
resolution: I•:ayor ird`arkentien, Councilmen Black, Ecklund, Steele and Labalestra and
the following voted against the same: None.
~iHEREUPON, said Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
