Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Falcon Heights, T~innesota was held on the 12th day of Nlay, 1977 . The following members were present: T~iayor titi'arkentien, Councilmen ~31ack, Ecklund, Steele and Labalestra and the followir~ were absent: None. Councilman Labalestra introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption. RESOLUTIOTd 77-15 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING INSTALLATION OF Tti~70 (2) I~-~4~AY STOP SIGNS ON GARIIETu AVENUE AT THE INTERSECTIONS OF ASBURY AVENUE AND ON SIN~'SON AVENUE. ti~THEREAS, ~syie City Council of the City of Falcon Heights, upon the results of the Garden Avenue traffic survey has determined the need for two (2) ~-way stop signs on Garden Avenue, one at the intersection of Asbury Avenue and one at the intersection of Simpson Avenue, and, ti~~T~El~a, the City Council has determined the signs should be of a tem- porary nature and a traffic count shall be conducted for seven (7) full days before erection of the signs and for seven (7) full days during the week of September ~, 1977, and, • ti~'HEREAS, the results of the traffic count will be submitted to the City- Council on or about September 15, 1977, for a determination as tc whether to con- tinue the stop signs. NOZ1, THEI~F'ORE, SE IT RESOLVED, the City Council of the City of Falcon Heights does hereby authorize the installation of two (2) temporary ~.-way stop signs on Garden Avenue at the intersections of Asbury Avenue and Simpson Avenue through September 15, 1977, for the purpose of conducting a traffic survey. A. 1r1ARKENTIEN, T~Iayor Attest: ~. ,;,- ,, • Dewan B. 3arnes, Clerk-Administrator P~egular meeting of I~iay 12, 1977 RESOLUTION N0. 77-15A CALLING FOR AN ELECTION ON GEPIERAL OBLIGATION BONDS OF 1977 BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Falcon Heights, Minnesota as follows: 1. This Council has investigated the facts and does hereby find, determine and declare that it is necessary and expedient to acquire a fire truck for the City. 2. The proposition of authorizing the issuance of $66,000 General Obligation Bonds for said purpose shall be submitted to the qualified electors of the City at a special election to be held on November 8, 1977. Said • election shall be held between the hours of 12:00 o'clock Noon and 8:00 o'clock P.M. The polling places shall be the designated polling places of the City of Falcon Heights, Minnesota. 3. The Clerk-Administrator is hereby authorized and directed to post and publish according to law a Notice of Election, and to prepare ballots for use at said election, which notice and ballot shall be in substantially the following form: r~ u 4. Those persons to be appointed judges for the general election shall also be judges for the special election on the same date. 5. Said election shall be held and conducted in accordance with the statutes of the State of Minnesota applicable, and the Council shall meet as required by law for the purpose of canvassing said election and declaring the results thereof. 6. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was moved by Mayor Warkentien, duly seconded by Councilman Labalestra and upon a vote being taken there- on, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Warkentien Councilmen Black, Ecklund, Steele and Labalestra, and the following voted against same: None. Barnes Clerk Administrator • NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a special election will be held in and for the City of Falcon Heights, Ramsey County, Minnesota,. on November 8, 1977 between the .hours of 12:00 o'clock Noon and 8:00 o'clock P.M. at which time the following question will be submitted: "Shall the City of Falcon Heights be authorized to borrow money on the authority of its general obligation bonds in an amount not to exceed $66,000 for the purpose of purchasing a fire truck?" The polling place for said election will be the designated polling places of said City, at which place all • of the qualified electors of the City may cast their ballots.
