. Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City
Council of the City of Falcon Heights, Minnesota, Uras held on the 12th day of Play,
1977.
The following members were present: P~iayor ~rarkentien, Councilmen Black,
Ecklund, Steele and Labalestra and the following were absent: None.
Mayor Warkentien introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption.

Z~y'HEREAS, APC-~?, open burning regulation of the Pti.nnesota Pollution Control
Agency bans outdoor burning in the Z`~~rin City metropolitan area and;
'~°JHEt~EA5, the ban on burning has resulted in significarrcly more materials
being placed in sanitary landfills and;
ti•JHE~REaS, the metropolitan area is already experiencing a shortage of
available land for landfills and;
~e'HEREAS, the burning ban has caused increased cost for citizens because
• they must pay for the removal of items from their property and;
1rd'PiEk.",AS, the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency has the authority to
change the regulation regarding the burning ban;
NOti~, TI~iERF1FORE, }3E IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Falcon Heights supports a change in APC-8 tahich would permit municipalities to
establish one week in the spring and one week in the fall for open burning of yard
debris.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resoluuion was duly seconded
by Councilman Steele and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in
favor thereof : P~iayor titi`arkentien, Councilmen Black, Ecklund, Steele and Labalestra
and the following voted against the same: None.
