HomeMy WebLinkAboutCCRes_77-28CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Falcon Heights, Minnesota, was held on the 10th Day o~ November, 1977. The following members were present: Mayor Warkeritien, Councilmen Black, Steele, Labalestra and McGough. And the followin were absent: None, g its adoption: introduced the following resolution and moved RESOLUTION 77-28 A RESOLUTTON APPROVING THE MINUTES OF THE CANVASSING BOARD MEETING OF NOVEMBER 9, 1977, DECLARING THE FOLLOWING ELECTED TO OFFICE: WILLIS C.A. WARKENTIEN TO THE OFFICE OF MAYOR: GENE STEELS AND HELEN L. BROWN TO THE OFFICE OF COUNCILMEMBER AND ACCEPTING THE TALLY OF THE SPECIAL ELECTION ON THE PROPOSITION FOR A NEW FIRE TRUCK. WHEREAS, the City General and Special Elections were held on November 8, 1977 in the City of Falcon Heights, and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Falcon Heights, that the following were declared duly elected by a majority vote of .the eligible voters of the City of Falcon Heights; • Councilman McGough City Mayor: Willis C.A. Warkentien -term of two years City Councilmember: Gene Steele - term of four years City Councilmember: Helen L. Brown - term of four years NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Falcon Heights that at a Special Election held on November 8, 1977 to determine whether the City Council of the City of Falcon Heights should be authorized to borrow money on the authority of its General Obligation Bonds in an amount not to exceed $66,000.00 for the purpose of purchasing Fire Truck, and., a WHEREAS, the tally of the Special Election shows there were votes cast as follows and accept the results to proceed to borrow money for the purpose of purchasing a Fire Truck, Yes 1,036 No 122 Ballots not cast 6 Defective ballots 2 The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmal Black and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof : Mayor Tniarkentieni Councilmen Blskls, McGough Steele and Labalestra and the following voted against same: None WHEREUPON, the Resolution was duly passed and adopte , ~ /~ /' ~~ ~L2P~cr ` - ~ G WILLIS C.A.
