HomeMy WebLinkAboutCCRes_73-10VILLAGE OF FALCON HEIGHTS Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the Village • Council of the Village of Falcon Heights, Minnesota, was held on the 12th day of April, 1973. The following members were present: Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Ecklund, Stone, and Councilwoman Stocker. The following member was absent: Councilman Black. Mayor Warkentien introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION 73-10 RESOLUTION OPPOSING SENATE FILE 1It81 AUTHORIZING MtTNICIPALITIES TO ISSUE SPECIAL OFF-SALE WINE LICENSES TO GENERAL FOOD STORES WHEREAS, The Village of Falcon Heights does presently operate a • municipal liquor Off-Sale establishment; and WHEREAS, said municipal liquor store does engage in the sale of liquor as a revenue producing endeavor; and WHEREAS, said revenue is used in lieu of taxes; and WHEREAS, State of Minnesota Senate File 1lt81 would authorize general food stores to engage in the sale of wine of not more than 21%•alcohol. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Village Council of the Village of Falcon Heights: that they are opposed to the passage of State of Minnesota Senate File 1lt81. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Councilwoman Stocker, and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Ecklund,, Stone, and Councilwoman Stocker, and the following voted against: None.
