COUNCIL RESOLUTION
CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS

WHEREAS, the City of Falcon Heights has applied for a grant to offset costs associated
with the improvement of the Trolley Path in the University Grove Neighborhood, and;
WHEREAS, the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has granted $54,000 to this
project, and;
WHEREAS, the city staff has established a citizen task force to study the path, and make
recommendations to the Parks and Recreation Commission and City Council regarding
improvements to the path, and;
WHEREAS, the DNR requires each grantee to pass a resolution accepting the grant, and
• providing a match equal to the grant, in addition to agreeing that the improvements be
maintained for a period of 20 years;
NOW, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Falcon Heights does
hereby accept the DNR grant in the amount of $54,000 to offset costs associated with the
improvement of the University Grove Trolley Path, and does agree to provide a monetary
match equal to the amount of the grant, as well as maintenance of the property for a
period of at least 20 years.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the city will involve residents of the University
Grove neighborhood in the planning of this project.
