HomeMy WebLinkAboutCCRes_03-23• CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS COUNCIL RESOLUTION NO. 2003-23 Date: November 26, 2003 A RESOLUTION VACATING STREET EASEMENTS AND ALLEY WHEREAS, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Section 412.851, after two (2) weeks' published and posted notice of the hearing and after mailing written notice of the hearing at least ten (10) days before the hearing to each property owner affected by the proposed vacation, the Falcon Heights City Council has conducted a hearing to consider the vacation of the street easements and alley legally described on the attached Exhibit "A"; and alley. WHEREAS, it appears that it is in the public interest to vacate the street easements and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Falcon Heights: • 1. The street easements and alley legally described on the attached Exhibit A are hereby vacated. 2. The City Clerk is directed to file a certified copy of this Resolution with the County Auditor and County Recorder/Registrar ofTitles. The easement for street oses ranted b PmP g y the State of Minnesota to the City of Falcon Heights by quit claim deed dated May 17, 1997 and filed June 4, 1997 as Document Number 1155682 with the Ramsey County Registrar of Titles, affecting only that part of the land evidenced by Certificate of Title No. 153297 described below: That part of the Westerly 159.5 feet, except the North 49.5 feet thereof, of the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 22, Township 29, Range 23 West, Ramsey County, Minnesota, lying Northerly of the Westerly extension of the Southerly line of Tract A, Registered Land Survey Number 2; which lies Easterly of Line 1 described below: Line 1. Commencing at the Northwest corner of said Section 22; thence run Easterly along the North line thereof on an azimuth of 88 degrees 48 minutes 49 seconds for 159.53 feet; thence on an azimuth of 179 degrees 53 minutes 31 seconds for 89.90 feet to the point of beginning of Line 1 to be described; thence on an azimuth of 269 degrees 53 minutes 31 seconds for 39.50 feet; thence on an azimuth of 179 degrees 53 minutes 31 seconds for 550.89 feet and there terminating. 2. The easement for street purposes granted by the State of Minnesota to the City of Falcon • Heights by quit claim deed dated May 17, 1997 and filed June 4, 1997 as Document Number 1155682 with the Ramsey County Registrar of Titles, affecting only that part of the land evidenced by Certificate of Title No. 81354 described below: That part of the west 110 feet of Lots 1, 2 and 3 and the west 19.31 feet of Lot 23 and Lot 24 of Block 10, FALCON HEIGHTS ADDITION, according to the recorded plat thereof and on file in the office of the County Recorder in and for Ramsey County, Minnesota; which lies easterly of Line 1 described below: Line 1. Beginning at the southwest corner of Section 15, Township 29 North, Range 23 West; thence run easterly along the south line thereof on an azimuth of 88 degrees 48 minutes 49 seconds for 159.53 feet; thence on an azimuth of 359 degrees 35 minutes 10 seconds for 147.84 feet; thence on an azimuth of 269 degrees 35 minutes 28 seconds for 39.50 feet; thence on an azimuth of 359 degrees 35 minutes 28 seconds for 2000 feet and there terminating. 3. The alley in Block 10, FALCON HEIGHTS ADDITION, lying west of the plat of KELLER'S RE-ARRANGEMENT OF BLOCK 10, FALCON HEIGHTS ADDITION. • • PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, the Ramsey County Library system serves over 220,000 residents living in suburban Ramsey County by providing them with a wide range of information and community resources; and WHEREAS, six suburban libraries located in the cities of Arden Hills, Maplewood, Mounds View, Roseville, Shoreview, and White Bear Lake are part of the Ramsey County Library System, and WHEREAS, plans are under way to explore restoring library services to the City of North Saint Paul and to make library improvements that respond to increasing community demands and the ever changing technologies; and WHEREAS, the Ramsey County Library system continues to grow with an 18 percent increase in circulation and over 1.6 million people using the libraries in 2002, and WHEREAS, Booker, the cuddly canine mascot of the Ramsey County Library system, can be seen throughout Ramsey County communities spreading the joy of reading to people of all ages • at community and school events, and encouraging residents to support local libraries; and WHEREAS, the Ramsey County Library Foundation, which supports the Ramsey County Library system by cultivating donations and financial grants, is sponsoring the fourth annual Taste of Books on November 15, 2003 at the Roseville Library, from 7:00 - 10:00 PM to highlight the efforts of Ramsey County Library employees, volunteers and donors to enrich our local libraries; NOW, THEREFORE, I, Sue Gehrz, Mayor of the City of Falcon Heights, do hereby proclaim Saturday, November 15, 2003, to be RAMSEY COUNTY LIBRARY FOUNDATION DAY IN THE CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS And urge all citizens of Falcon Heights to join with the Ramsey County Library Foundation in recognition of the Ramsey County Library system and its employees, volunteers and donors who have contributed to the vital and important role that libraries play in our community life. ~- Susan L.
