PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION MEETING
MARCH 11, 1985

Attendees: Floyd Bedbury, Paul Ciernia, Keith Moderson, Paul Nelson and Carol
Parks.
Confirmed Lori Luttrel as Summer. Recreation Director. Lori's initial responsibilities
will include the following:
(1) Employment - Review one list of candidates for summer positions and make
recommendations to hire two regular and one CETA employee;
(2) Equipment - Address current equipment needs based on inventory conducted
by Greg last summer;
(3) Schedule of Activities - Check preliminary list of activities, times and
recommend additions, revisions and other charges;
(4) Responsibilities - Describe and outline the major job functions for the
Summer Director's position and submit to Commission by the end of the
program;
(5) First Aid - Lori will evaluate need for training for Summer, 1985.
Items 4~1-3 should be completed prior to April 1, if possible for discussion by
Commission.
Additional Items
(1) Consider additional activities for summer. (A) Bike Rodeo (Paul, Paul, Keith)
and (B) Tennis Tournament (Carol Parks).
(2) Revise fee structure for T-Ball and Soccer.

Fees have not been adjusted for at least two years and a minimal increase to cover
raising costs seems appropriate. Both activites in combination (package) will cost
$12.00 - one T-Shirt limit.
(3) Review schedule of T-Ball, Soccer activities for the Grove. No activities will
be scheduled unless significant level of interest is indicated.
(4) Assess needs for repairs to hockey rink and warming house at Idaho/Snelling.
Floyd will review situation and request estimates.
(5) Propose a gesture of recognition forFalcon Seniors, Sing-A-Longs, Nature
Tours, etc. to show appreciation.
(6) Floyd will do follow-up with Lori regarding Lori's attendance at next Commission
meeting of April 1 to plan and organize summer program.
~(7) Floyd will also do follow-up with Shirley regarding hourly rates, salaries
for summer employees.
