HomeMy WebLinkAboutPRCMin_85Jun3MINUTES PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION JUNE 3, 1985 Called to order by Paul Ciernia. Members Present: Paul Nelson., Connie Lasser, Carol Parks, Keith Moderson, Floyd Bedbury. Iteith discussed Bike Day results. Approximately 37 bikes registered for both sites. Commission will address the desirability of continuing the event in the future. 1. July 25th has been set as the date for the Ice Cream Social. Commission members will work with Shirley to coordinate the event. 2. Drafts of the user survey will be mailed to Commission members for review and testing prior to distribution in the July Newsletter. The survey will address the level of demand for various park services and programs. 3. Commission members Moderson, Nelson and Parks will review Park's budget history and make recommendations regarding revisions or increased prior to August 1. Members will recognize that a separate capital improvement fund exists for equipment and non-service items. Recommendations will be for anticipated needs for 1986. • 4. Floyd noted that there is a problem with the lighting of the tennis court and will ask maintenance to make necessary repairs or replacement. 5. Paul Ciernia raised the issue of fee reimbursement for tennis lessons in Roseville. Commission resolved the issue by ruling that reimbursement for comparable services will not be made, whenever the service is offered in Falcon Heights. 6. Commission members will review condition of hockey boards at Idaho to determine whether replacement is necessary. 7. Connie Lasser and Carol Parks have agreed to be contacts for any questions regarding 1985 Summer programs at the parks. This will provide Laura Luttrell and other employees an added back-up resource when necessary. 8. Position descriptions for park employees have been .completed by Carol Parks, The descriptions will be reviewed by the City Council before final approval. 9. The Commission will request that maintenance complete the repairs that are needed at the main park loft. This represents the third such request.
