The Sinclair's have arranged for an.accordian player, Cathy Cole-

are going to pay half her fee and the Park and Recreation Commission
pay half. We want a special thanks to the Falconeers mentioned
in the July newsletter on this matter.
It was discussed and decided that name tags be available for
everyone at the Ice Cream Social.
Ardis Hutchins presented the survey and after discussion a revised
copy will be sent out in the July newsletter. Paul Ciernia to
revise cover letter to include a statement about the Park and
Recreation budget.
Discussed having a special mailing for people whose names
appeared on petition, hoping we can get a better response to
the survey. Paul Ciernia volunteered to write this letter.
Paul Ciernia gave a report on the Falcon Heights Community
Park lease with the University of Minnesota. The lease was
signed in 1972, for Falcon Heights to use that property as a
park and the option for the University to cancel that lease on
a 60 day notice anytime after 1978. After discussion it was de-
cided to take no action on this matter at the present time.
Floyd reports that the City has done the maintenance check and
repair as requested. A11 recreation equipment has been removed
from the loft area of the .park building, thus resolving the
trap door problem.
Floyd to request Dewan Barnes obtain a price quote and description
(e.g. catalog photo) on vinyl coated chain for replacement of
climbing rope and park benches.
Safety of our playgrounds was discussed.
More trash cans and more trash can pick-ups are needed at the
Community Park.

It was stated that no new purchases take place until the survey
is complete, the first week in August. At that time we can begin
to make long range plans to decide what to purchase and where to
locate in our parks.
Tom Ammann suggested and it was decided to recommend to the
City Council an addition to our re-imbursement policy; that if
our program is full we will re-imburse non-resident fee for
Roseville grogram.
It was discussed and decided that we actively persue an auxiliary
for Park and Recreation involving the business community and
citizens.
Assignments:
Ardis Hutchins is to investigate how to start a park and recreation
auxiliary.
Carol Parks, Paul Nelson and Keith Moderson to prepare a 1986
bucket report for the next meeting. ~It was decided that the
budget should include a proposal for a part-time park and re-
creation staff member.
Carol Parks and Connie Lasser have volunteered to gather information
concerning job description, salary etc., for this staff position.
Ardis Hutchins volunteered to contact the Minnesota Association of
Recreation and Parks, the president of which has stated that a
representative would be happy to meet with our commission.
Respectfully submitted,
Connie Lasser
