HomeMy WebLinkAboutPRCMin_86Jun9,~ MINUTES • PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION JUNE 9, 1986 Members Present: Leo & Jean Ohrnan, Connie Zasser, Ardis Hutchins, Pat Bush, Recreation Director and Paul Cierri~.a, liaison Guests: Mary Ann Wark and Carolyn Collins, Grove Association Members Absent: Tom Amman, Floyd Bedbury, Tom Montain, Paul Nelson, Keith Moderson and Bob Gehrz 1. Summer Program Pat Bush reported that Bob Andre and Mark Dawson were hired as T-ball and soccer coaches. T-ball and soccer have enough par- ticipants although not at Idaho-Snelling. Babysitting clinic and dance classes will be offered. Due to lack of participants there will be no adult volleyball league or nature classes. Some of the nature classes will be offered as Fun Friday Acti- vities. Also discussed was the resident reimbursement for Roseville Recreation. This will be further discussed next meeting. 2. Fall Program • The Commission discussed the fall program and the timing of the July newsletter as being too early to announce the fall program because the summer program is still running. We decided to publicize the program through the schools and newspapers. 3. Removal of Fence at Community Park The Commission discussed this fence and decided that it served no function and decided to remove it and if possible, use it at Idaho-Snelling. 4. Idaho-Snelling Asphalt Surfacing A correction in the June 9 minutes; the Commission decided not to put the green tennis court surface on the asphalt at Idaho-Snelling but to check into simply painting game lines on the asphalt. This was recently done. 5. Grove Park Plan The Commission met May 20, at the Grove Park and reviewed the layout of the plan and also took into consideration opposi- tion to the placement of the play equiprnen.t. The Commission • • Minutes, P&R Commission June 9, 1986 Page 2 voted to recommend the City Council approve the Grove Park Plan as presented by Mary Ann Wark of the Grove Association. Three commission members voted by proxy. Pat Bush is to serve as the co-ordinator of this park for the Commission.. 6.
