1. Rinks
With the warm weather and money budgeted mostly spent, perhaps one more
flooding of the rinks at most could be considered. Overall, the skating
season seemed to go fine--attendance and use of the rinks was good.
A. Recommendations for 1988
1) At Idaho/Snelling, re-do the ramp leading out of the warming
house or install a railing,
• 2) Consider using a painted line on the rinks to aid in
separating hockey and recreational skaters, and
3) Consider buying "Hot-Mops" to aid in getting smoother
ice.
2. Grove Park Shelter
Pat Bush distributed several diagrams for structures at the Grove Park--
one plan was a mini-shelter and another plan was a gazebo. This could be
used for both summer and winter. This item will be looked into in more
detail.
3. Saturday Open Gym
This seems to be going well with about 20 people using the gym at Falcon
Heights Elementary School on Saturday mornings.
4. Summer Recreational Program
Pat Bush is starting to work on the summer program of T-Ball and Soccer.
Other day activities will also be looked at.
•
• 5. Community Park
-2-
Pat presented some items that need to be improved on at the Community Park
such a painting trash cans, installing a bench at the tennis court area, etc.
This item will be continued.
6. Bike Paths
Paul Ciernia reported that the idea of a bike path will be considered at the
next Planning Commission meeting.
