HomeMy WebLinkAboutPRCMin_87Mar9~ A r MINUTES Park and Recreation Commission March 9, 1987 Members Present: Floyd Bedbury, Ardis Hutchins, Leo Ohman, Bob Gehrz, Connie Lasser, Pat Bts h and Paul Ciernia, Council Liaison Members Absent: Paul Nelson, Tom Montain Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Connie Lasser, Chair. Bike Rodeo The Bike Rodeo will be held on Saturday, May 9, 1987, 10:00 a.m. at the school parking lot. At this year's rodeo we will again have a Safety Officer from the State of MN, a bike safety check, a bike rodeo course for the kids to participate in, also we are purchasing Light-A-Bike reflector kits. There will be refreshments and Free-Style Bikers for entertainment. May 16, will be the al - ternate date if rained out. Svrin~ and Summer Program Pat Bush presented preliminary plans for programs. After_discus- • sion and minor changes the Commission approved the programs and the program will be in the April Newsletter. We were very happy to learn that Bob Andre will return as coach. A brief outline of our program will also be included in the Roseville Summer School Brochure and Pat Bush will be at Summer School Registration, April 11, to register people for our programs also. Park Improvements and Budget The sign for the Grove Park will be completed soon and be installed this spring. The new security light has drawn complaints from neighbors as being too bright and intrusive, this will be corrected. The Grove Park residents are undecided about the gazebo and we have tabled this idea at present. The Commission decided to place a satelite toilet at the Community Park since we are unable to have the lavatories open due to van- dalism. This is to be on a trial basis for the summer months and will be publicized as such in the April Newsletter. The Park and Recreation Commission members who have expressed interest in serving on this committee are Ardis Hutchins, Connie Lasser and Pat Bush. We expect to meet on this matter soon. Membership Connie passer is still recruiting new members. Elections Election were finally held. A motion was Wade to keep the current officers in place until new elections to be held in September, motion seconded; motion passed.
