Please call me at 646-1371 if you are unable to attend. Please call me if there are items that you feel should be on the agenda. The following agenda will be discussed. 1. Update on equipment safety compliance 2. Fall programs 3. Ice cream social and Olympics 4. Falcon Heights running race 5. Minutes of the July 11 meeting MINUTES PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION JULY 11, 1988 MEMBERS PRESENT: Linda McLoon, Carol Kriegler, Paul Nelson, Tom Mountain, Bob C~ehrz, Connie Lasser MEMBERS ABSENT: Karsten Eckberg, Lloyd Jacobson, Pat Bush PARK REPAIR AND IMPROVEMENTS Caor1 Kriegler presented some updated information from last meeting regarding play ground equipment. Big Toy Mfg has responded regarding their piece of equipment which is in the Falcon Heights Community Eark. They will try to give us specific recommendations. They will also give us an estimate on a slide to replace the old metal slide which has been replaced for safety reasons. Sand 8 inches deep should be placed around the playground equipment and maybe bordered 3n. Electrical work has and will continue to be worked on at Idaho-Snelling and at the Community Park. The item regarding parking curbs at the Community Park will be delayed and perhaps presented to the City Council at a later date. Also the sidewalk at the Community Park around the building is a problem. An insurance sponsored survey of Falcon Heights' parks was done several years ago. Carol will attempt to meet with the representative regarding some of their findings and suggestions. The culverts at Idaho-Snelling are a concern from a safety standpoint.. A City engineer will look at them soon. COMPREHENSIVE PLAN FOR PARKS We will try to obtain the help of a U of M intern to assist us in this plan. SUMMER PROGRAMS The enrollment was very good and the programs have gone well. ICE CREAM SOCIAL Carol has made all necessary arrangements. A senior citizens band may play for entertainment.
