HomeMy WebLinkAboutPCMin_85Sep9• MINUTES REGULAR PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING SEPTEMBER 9, 1985 The Planning Commission meeting was called to order at 7:30.P.M. by Chairman Al Stefanson. Stefanson, Grittner, Olson, Finegan, Wallin, Black and Trent-Sullivan. Northrop and Mead. Olson moved, seconded by Grittner, approval of-the August 5, 1985 Planning Commission Minutes as presented. Motion carried unanimously. Alice M. Robertson, 1741 Holton, requested a variance to replace an existing driveway. She presented a letter from her neighbor, Eunice Boehlke, 1735 Holton, having no objections. She also presented a sketch of the area where the driveway will be replaced. Ms. Robertson voiced objection to the variance requirement and felt it should be covered under a grandfather clause. She advised she intends to voice her objection to T.he City Council. Finegan and Wallin sympathized with her point and Wallin suggested she point out page 184 of Ordinance 205 to the City Council. After further discussion, Finegan moved, seconded by Olson, approval of the • variance request. Motion carried unanimously. Chairman Stefanson advised that the use of industrial revenue bonds had been approved for the acreage around city hall (Moder/Hawkins property). This will allow the prospective builder to move ahead with construction this fall. Construction has commenced with the installation of the sewers on the University of Minnesota retirees home (1666 Coffman). Next meeting will be October 7, 1985.
