PUBLIC HEARING E1 12/1/08 ITEM: Truth-in-Taxation Hearing SUBMITTED BY: Justin Miller, City Administrator Roland Olson, Finance Director EXPLANATION: Each year the City holds a truth-in-taxation
hearing to provide the general public an opportunity to receive information about the upcoming year’s budget and tax levy. It also allows the public an opportunity to provide comments
to the city council before the budget and tax levy is approved. No formal action may be taken on the budget at this hearing. It is simply an opportunity for staff to present the budget
and tax levy and for the council to receive comments from the public. Attached to this report are several documents relating to the 2009 budget. A formal report will be presented at
the hearing on Monday evening. ACTION REQUESTED: Receive comments from the public regarding the proposed 2009 budget and tax levy.
