Members present: Mayor Lindstrom, Council members Kuettel, Long, Harris, and Mercer-Taylor, and Administrator Miller

Larpenteur Avenue Streetscape Update
Miller and McGarvey presented cost estimates on the portions of the draft plan that the council indicated preferences on, mainly colored concrete crosswalks and median plantings. Members
discussed the merits of proceeding this year or postponing it until 2010, and it was eventually agreed to use the remainder of 2009 to finalize plans and work with the State of Minnesota,
Ramsey County, and the University of Minnesota for possible construction in 2010.
Boulevard Tree Maintenance Program
Miller and Hovlund presented the price quotes from S&S Tree Specialist and Rainbow Tree Care regarding city-wide elm tree injections. It was estimated that there are only about 35 elm
trees remaining as boulevard trees. Members discussed the merits of city participation in future programs, and it was decided to offer residents the lower bid rate, but not to participate
financially at this time. Staff will send letters to each homeowner with an elm boulevard tree to alert them to the program.
The workshop concluded at 8:00 p.m.
