Active Living Ramsey County 1,000 Benches Program
June 11, 2008
WHEREAS, Active Living Ramsey County (ALRC) is a partnership dedicated to creating and promoting environments that make it safe and convenient for people to integrate physical activity
into their daily routine; and,
WHEREAS, Ramsey County has created the 1,000 Benches Program as part of ALRC, that seeks to install pathways to health, which are networks of benches that link local destinations, and
which are geared to people that are not typically very active; and,
WHEREAS, The Ramsey County Board of Commissioners has approved funding for the 1,000 Benches Program, and has funds available through a grant process to match the cost of local pathways
up to $600 per installed bench; and,
WHEREAS the City of Falcon Heights desires to implement a pathway to health; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Falcon Heights has secured funding through its annual budgeting process; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED, the City of Falcon Heights hereby approves and authorizes submission of an application for a pathway for the 1,000 Benches program, attached hereto.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the City of Falcon Heights hereby accepts the terms outlined in the grant application materials, and authorizes the City Administrator to execute grant agreements
with the County.
