Re: Larpenteur Avenue Streetscape Update
Explanation:
For the past two years, the city council, Larpenteur Streetscape Advisory Committee, staff and consultants have been working on plans to beautify and enhance the Larpenteur Avenue corridor.
SRF Consulting, the group that has been hired to develop the plans, has been working on different options since our last meeting and is prepared to share revised plans to the council
at this time.
Unfortunately, due to the Thanksgiving holiday and some last minute input we received from Ramsey County, up-to-date drawings and budget estimates will not be ready until next week.
Staff will attempt to make these available before the meeting to the council and will place the documents online as we receive them. Hard copies will also be available for review at
the workshop on Wednesday at 6:30 pm.
The current timeline for the project is:
December 2009/January 2010 Plan revision
Winter/Spring 2010 Plans and Specification Development/Bidding
Spring 2010 Award bid
Summer/Fall 2010 Construction

Re: Falcon Flyer Delivery Changes
Explanation:
For several years, our monthly Falcon Flyer has been distributed throughout the community free of charge by Sentenced to Serve (STS) work crews. Due to budget cuts at Ramsey County,
STS will begin charging $400 per work day for all of their projects. If the city continues to deliver a monthly flyer, this would mean an additional expense of $4,800 in 2010 that has
not been included in the budget.
The city has already discontinued mailing the newsletter to households due to budget cuts, and the flyer is the only piece of city information that is delivered to every household in
the city. Staff is working on obtaining prices for alternative Falcon Flyer delivery methods, and we will have those available for the city council to review on Wednesday night. Staff
will be looking for guidance from the city council on how you would like to see these information pieces distributed throughout the community.
