Rebecca Montgomery, Justin Miller Absent: Diane Ross Guests: Joni Fletty 1. Minutes of January 11th meeting were approved (Goodspeed moved, Keene seconded). 2. Joni Fletty presented
her company’s “Giving Garden” proposal, where extra produce from local gardens is donated to area food shelves. She promoted the idea of an “adopt-a-crop” program where backyard gardens
can produce extra produce as well. Lindstrom suggested that Fletty attend the annual community garden meeting and propose that they donate to the program. Miller stated that food could
be dropped off at city hall and staff could deliver to food shelves. 3. The commission discussed 2010 projects. Ideas included: • Using GreenStep cities best practices as goals • Completing
the recycling RFP • Investigating solar rights • City hall energy audit • Make more informati?on available on the website • Conduct an energy fair (possible at the Ice Cream Social)
• Review ordinances that prohibit environmentally friendly practices • Adopt-a-crop program 4. Miller updated the commission on the neighborhood liaison joint meeting, community garden
and rain barrel opportunities, and the GreenStep Cities program. The meeting adjourned at 7:45 pm. Falcon Heights Environment Commission
