Commission Chair Ron Kroese, recycling company representatives Recycling Services RFP Discussion Miller began by reviewing the RFP process and stated that the environment commission
had reviewed the proposals on July 19th. Ron Kroese then addressed the council and explained why they had elected to recommend Troje’s Trash as their top choice for recycling services.
Miller then went through the financial analysis and answered questions from the council. The council then discussed the merits of each proposal and the benefits of single-sort vs. dual-sort
and weekly vs. bi-weekly pickup. The council decided before making any final decisions it would be worthwhile to tour some of the company’s recycling facilities to ensure that our materials
were being handled in a manner acceptable to the city. The council directed staff to arra?nge for the tours and to invite the environment commission to attend as well. The workshop
