City of Falcon Heights Environment Commission Meeting Minutes November 8, 2010 Present: Rebecca Montgomery, Brian Goodspeed, Diane Ross, Gretel Keene, Justin Miller Guests: U of MN Law
Students, Professor Prentiss Cox Absent: Ethan Wagner, Peter Lindstrom, Nina Semmelroth, Stan Sveen 1. Miller introduced the students from the University of Minnesota Law School. They
are working on a report which will outline various options for the city in regards to municipal renewable energy financing options. They listed a wide menu of options and with input
from the commission and staff will return after the first of the year with a more detailed report. 2. Students from the Minnesota State-Mankato project have not provided an update, so
nothing new was reported. 3. Miller provided an update on the city’s GreenStep City designation. While the city was a pilot city, a formal process will still need to be completed before
officially gaining the designation. Miller went through the 28 best practices and noted the ones that that were already completed or were in progress. The commission will evaluate them
over the next few months and return in January with ideas on how to implement the outstanding items. The meeting adjourned at 7:40 pm. Falcon Heights Environment Commission
