It was the consensus of the <br />Council that this would not be allowed. The City Administrator noted that <br />otl=premises signage would only be allowed for non-profit organizations <br />operating within the City. Fahey pointed out that the non-profit <br />organizations have to be located in the City for a minimum of three years <br />and they are not in competition with any of the City's businesses. <br />Temporary signage for the non-profits are related to fund-raising activities <br />the profits from ~,vhich benefit the community. <br />Anderson suggested that temporary signage for grand opening events be <br />al]owed fora 21-day period. Pahey suggested 30 days pointing out that <br />Urand openings bring recognition to newly established businesses in the <br />city. <br />The Council also indicated that pennants should continue to be considered <br />as temporary signage.
