It was noted that grand opening events are <br />applicable to new businesses only. <br />Knudsen suggested that the Language of the ordinance should be darif ed <br />to reed "one banner at a time". <br />Duray recommended that community based organizations be exempt from <br />paying temporary sign permit fees. <br />Duray indicated ghat the business owners will appreciate the ability to <br />display banners, although he would have preferred being allowed to have <br />two banners on display at one time. <br />Roycraft stated that he did not agree ~.vith loosening the temporary sign <br />ordinance. <br />Roycraft asked if Duray should abstain from voting on this issue given <br />that it would impact his business. The City Planner felt there was no <br />conflict of interest in Chis situation- A conflict would exist, for example, if <br />one of the Commissioners was the owner of abanner-making company. <br />N[r.
