Katie Socha <br />Ms. T{athy Glanzer <br />The Mayor reported that at a recent City goal setting session, there <br />was discussion ofi the Rice Street/Little Canada Road redevelopment <br />area and continuing the type ofhigh-quality development in that area <br />that was started with'I'he Lodge and The Villas. Therefo]'e, tonight's <br />workshop sleeting was scheduled with Mr. George Shern7an, Sherman <br />& Associates, as an update as to what is happening in this area.. <br />The City Administrator noted that the city has an existing Development <br />Agreement with Sherman & Associates that obligates the Finn to construct <br />a certain amount of square footage in order to generate adequate tax <br />revenues to support the Tax ]ncrenlent Financing guarantees made by the <br />developer. The Adslinistrator noted that at the goal setting session there <br />was discussion about the types of businesses that the City would like to <br />see for this area. The Adslinistrator noted that he had a discussion with <br />one n7ember of the Planning Commission this afternool7 who indicated <br />that she would like to see small specialty shops and apedestrian-friendly <br />environment. <br />George Sherman, Sherl7an & Associates, indicated that he plans to begin <br />construction on the lust building within the next 60 days.
