MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MARCH 9, 2005 <br />consideration. C-Ie noted that: any changes would require an ordinance <br />amendment which would be presented to the Planning Commission for a <br />recommendation and then to the Council. <br />LaValle agreed. He also suggested that letters be sent to property owners <br />and business owners reminding them that window signage is limited to <br />33% of the window space. LaValle noted that there are some businesses <br />in town which are tilling up window space with signage. LaValle felt this <br />was a public safety issue. <br />LaValle suggested that the deposit for a banner should be set at $100 <br />rasher than the $200 deposit required for other temporal}~ signage- <br />Montour pointed out that several neighboring cities limit the size of <br />banners to no larger than 32 square feet. Montour also noted that <br />Shoreview does not allow a business to have temporary signage if they <br />have permanent signage that has a changeable message board. <br />Keis suggested that some businesses would want both the changeable <br />message board and temporary signage. <br />It was the consensus of the Council that City staff should prepare a <br />recommendation for the Council's review prior to the matter going <br />through the. ii~rmal public hearing process. <br />ASSESSMENT 1'he City Administrator reviewed a proposed reapportionment <br />REAPPOi2- of the assessment for the Middle Street improvement among the Market <br />TIONIVIENT - Square Town 01'fice units. <br />MARKET <br />SQUARE Mr. Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />TOWN OTI?ICES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 200.i-3-G6 -APPROVING THl ASSBSSA~ENT <br />REAPPORTIONMB'NT FOR PROPERTY D1V/S/ONDG0691b'4, <br />MARKET S~JUARI/ TOIA~N OFIYCE,S A.S RF'COMR4FNDFD BP C77T <br />.STAFF <br />T'he foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Allan. <br />Ayes (4) ivlontour, Allan, I<eis, LaValle. <br />Nays (0).
