MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />APRIL 13, 2005 <br />EDGERTON/ Mayor Blesener reminded the general public that work has resumed on <br />COUNTY the Edgerton Bridge reconstruction project. As part of that project, the <br />ROAD D Edgerton Street and County Road D intersection is being reconstructed. <br />PROJECT As a result, the intersection is closed until the project is completed at the <br />end of July. <br />GAMBLING Mayor Blesener reviewed the City Clerk's report dated April 7th <br />REPORT updating the Council on the status of gambling issues at the Little Canada <br />Bingo Hall. He summarized that Millennium Charity Plus has signed the <br />Consent Order issued by the Gambling Control Board and will cease their <br />operation effective May 20, 2005. He further noted that the Little Canada <br />Recreation Association has appointed a task force to study the issue of <br />whether or not to seek a gambling license to operate at the Little Canada <br />Bingo Hall. The task force is scheduled to make their recommendation to <br />LCRA on Apri120`h. Finally, aC the legislative level, bingo hall rent <br />reform legislation is proceeding through the legislative process. However, <br />there appears to be some resistance at the Senate level with modifying the <br />allowable expense percentage. It was noted that further discussion of <br />gambling issues at the Little Canada Bingo Hall will be scheduled for the <br />April 27'h Council meeting. <br />CONSENT Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />AGENDA <br />RESOLUTION NO.2005-4-78 -APPROVING THE CONSENT <br />AGENDA WHICH CONTAINS THE FOLLOWING ITEMS: <br />*APPROVAL OF THE VOUCHERS; <br />*APPROVAL OF A TEMPORARY LIQ UOR LICENSE FOR ST. <br />JOHN'S SCHOOL SILENT AUCTION PENDING RECEIPT OF <br />SATISFACTORY LIQUOR LIABILITY INSURANCE; <br />*APPROVAL OF A TOBACCO LICENSE FOR DANNY VANG AT <br />THE SINCLAIR STATION AT 228 LITTLE CANADA ROAD; <br />*CALLING FOR AN INFORMATION UPDATE MEETING OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL FOR WEDNESDAY, APRIL 27, 2005 AT 6:00 P.M. <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Allan. <br />Ayes (4) LaValle, Allan, Blesener, Keis. <br />Nays (0).
