MINUTES CITY COUNCIL APRIL 13, 2005 EDGERTON/ Mayor Blesener reminded the general public that work has resumed on COUNTY the Edgerton Bridge reconstruction project. As part of that project, the ROAD D Edgerton Street and County Road D intersection is being reconstructed. PROJECT As a result, the intersection is closed until the project is completed at the end of July. GAMBLING Mayor Blesener reviewed the City Clerk's report dated April 7th REPORT updating the Council on the status of gambling issues at the Little Canada Bingo Hall. He summarized that Millennium Charity Plus has signed the Consent Order issued by the Gambling Control Board and will cease their operation effective May 20, 2005. He further noted that the Little Canada Recreation Association has appointed a task force to study the issue of whether or not to seek a gambling license to operate at the Little Canada Bingo Hall. The task force is scheduled to make their recommendation to LCRA on Apri120`h. Finally, aC the legislative level, bingo hall rent reform legislation is proceeding through the legislative process. However, there appears to be some resistance at the Senate level with modifying the allowable expense percentage. It was noted that further discussion of gambling issues at the Little Canada Bingo Hall will be scheduled for the April 27'h Council meeting. CONSENT Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: AGENDA RESOLUTION NO.2005-4-78 -APPROVING THE CONSENT AGENDA WHICH CONTAINS THE FOLLOWING ITEMS: *APPROVAL OF THE VOUCHERS; *APPROVAL OF A TEMPORARY LIQ UOR LICENSE FOR ST. JOHN'S SCHOOL SILENT AUCTION PENDING RECEIPT OF SATISFACTORY LIQUOR LIABILITY INSURANCE; *APPROVAL OF A TOBACCO LICENSE FOR DANNY VANG AT THE SINCLAIR STATION AT 228 LITTLE CANADA ROAD; *CALLING FOR AN INFORMATION UPDATE MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL FOR WEDNESDAY, APRIL 27, 2005 AT 6:00 P.M. The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Allan. Ayes (4) LaValle, Allan, Blesener, Keis. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
