MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />PARK & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />JULY 13, 2005 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a joint workshop meeting of the <br />City Council and the Park & Recreation Commission of Little Canada, <br />Minnesota was convened on the 13`h day of July, 2005 in the Council <br />Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road in said <br />City. <br />Mayor Bill Blesener called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. and the <br />following members of the City Council were present at roll call: <br /> CITY COUNCIL: Mayor Mr. Bill Blesener <br /> Council Member Mr. Jim LaValle <br /> Council Member Mr. Rick Montour <br /> Council Member Ms. Barbara Allan <br /> Council Member Mr. John Keis <br /> PARK & <br /> RECREATION <br /> COMMISSION: Chair Ms. Ginger Sackett-Glaser <br /> Member Ms. Molly Boss <br /> Member Mr. Jim Broten <br /> Member Mr. Tony Mans <br /> Member Mr. Kevin Steinert <br /> ALSO PRESENT: City Administrator Mr. Joel R. Hanson <br /> Park Consultant Mr. Bill Sanders <br /> Parks & Rec Director Mr. Jim Morelan <br /> City Clerk Ms. Kathy Glanzer <br />UPDATE The Park Consultant noted that the Parks Master Plan was first adopted <br />PARKS as a part of the City's Comprehensive Plan in 1980 and then updated in <br />MASTER 1990 when the Comp Plan was updated. Given the fact that the <br />PLAN - Metropolitan Council will be mandating updates of Comprehensive <br />SCOPE OF Plans in the near future, as well as the Council's 2005 Goal for updating <br />WORK Parks Master Plan, the Park Consultant submitted to those present a <br /> proposed Scope of Work for accomplishing this goal. <br /> The Parks Consultant reviewed in detail the various tasks laid out in the <br /> work scope as well as the corresponding timelines. In reviewing these <br /> tasks, the Council and Commission discussed in detail the need for a <br /> community survey to determine community perception of park needs and <br /> current service as outlined in Task 4.
