MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />November 4, 2004 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation Commission <br />of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 4`h day of November, 2004 in the <br />Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road East in said City. <br />Vice-Chair James Broten called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the following members of <br />the Commission were present: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Mr. James Broten, Vice-Chair <br />Mr. David Gray <br />Mr. Craig Larson <br />Mr. Kevin Steinert <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: Ms. Ginger Sackett Glaser, Chair <br />Ms. Molly Boss <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Jim Morelan, Parks & Recreation Director <br />Mr. Bill Sanders, Parks Consultant <br />Ms. Kris Pechman, Recording Secretary <br />~NUTES Gray recommended that the minutes of the meeting held on September 2, 2004 be approved as <br />submitted. <br />Motion seconded by Steinert. <br />Motiozz carried 4 - 0. <br />WATERSHED Cliff Aichinger, the administrator for the Ramsey-Washington Metro Watershed District, was <br />PROPOSAL present to discuss the Watershed's proposal to purchase city-owned property on Noel Drive for <br />the future construction of an office to house their organization. He stated that the City Council <br />has already approved a purchase agreement with some conditions. Code requirements must be <br />met, the building will have an approximate footprint of 6,000 square feet, and other minor issues <br />will be addressed. Aichinger indicated that the building is in the process of being designed. <br />This design will be presented to the Parks & Recreation Commission during a neighborhood <br />meeting on January 6 during their regular monthly meeting. If all goes well, a building permit <br />will be applied for in January, closing will occur around March 1, and construction will begin <br />this spring. <br />Aichinger indicated that the purpose of tonight's meeting is to collect concerns and comments <br />from the commission and neighbors. The comments will be taken into account when working <br />on the design of the building. He assured residents attending the meeting that the building will <br />be aesthetically pleasing, energy efficient, and high quality. <br />Page 1 of 6 <br />
