MINUTES <br />PLANNING COMM]SSION <br />FEBRUARY 12, 2004 <br />Duray recommended approval of the Amendment to the Subdivision <br />Ordinance as presented by the City Planner with the inclusion of a waiver <br />provision in the third amendment allowing developers to request a waiver <br />of the added step in the preliminary and final plat approval process. <br />Motiar seconded by Wojcik. <br />Motion carried 5 - 0. <br />PARKING The City Planner reported that concern has been expressed with regard <br />REQUIREMENTS to the parking requirements for town office projects. The Council has <br />FOR indicated that these parking requirements may not be adequate to meet <br />TOWNOFFICE the need. The Planner reported that as part of the Blacktern project, the <br />PROJECTS City reviewed its parking requirements, and based on some research that <br />was done, reduced the amount of parking required for small office <br />projects. <br />The Plam~er indicated that there is currently some additional research <br />being done on this issue, and he would have a report to the Planning <br />Commmission at their next meeting. In the meantime, he asked the <br />Commissioners to observe the parking at the City's town office projects to <br />see if any parking problems a~'e evident. <br />Rheaume indicated that he has observed some small office project in <br />Minneapolis where a change in tenants has resulted in pa~'king problems. <br />One specific instance was when a telemarketing company moved into a <br />small office building, and given the large number of employees, parking <br />became a problem at this particular' site. <br />SPECIAL The Deputy Clerk requested that the Commission call a special meeting to <br />MEETING consider an a~neudment to the Final Plat for The Villas town homes. It <br />was the consensus of the Commission to meet on Thursday, February 19'x', <br />at 5 p.m. <br />ADJOURN Wojcik recommended the meeting be adjourned. <br />Motion seconded by Duray. <br />Motion carried 5 - 0. <br />-9- <br />
