MINUTES PLANNING CODIDiISSION FEBRUARY 12, 200-1 Duray recommended approval of the t~nendment to the Subdivision Ordinance as presented by the City Planner with the inclusion of a waiver provision in the third amendment allowing developers to request a waiver of the added step in the preliminary and final plat approval process. Motion seconded by Wojcik. Motion carried 5 - 0. PARKING The City Planner reported that concern has been expressed with regard REQUIRENIEN'TS to the parking requirements for town office projects. The Council has FOR indicated that these parking requirements may not be adequate to meet TOWNOFFICE the need. The Planner reported that as past of the Blackteni project, the PROJECTS City reviewed its parking requirements, and based on some research that was done, reduced the amount of parking required for small office projects. The Planner indicated that there is currently some additional research being done on this issue, and he would have a report to the Planning Commission at their next meeting. In the meantime, he asked the Commissioners to observe the parking at the City's town office projects to see if any parking problems are evident. Rheaume indicated that he has observed some small office project in Minneapolis where a chwge in tenants has resulted in parking problems. One specific instance was when a telemarketing company moved into a small office building, and given the large number of employees, parking became a problem at this particular site. SPECIAL The Deputy Clerk requested that the Co~mnission call a special meeting to MEETING consider an amendment to the Final Plat for The Villas town homes. It was the consensus of the Commission to meet on Thursday, February 19`x'; at 5 p.m. ADJOURN Wojcik recommended the meeting be adjourned. Motion seconded by Duray. Motion carried 5 - 0. _~)_
