o It is difficult to manage an election in a precinct that has a split school district.
Election judges have to deal with different rosters and ballots for voters in the
Roseville School District versus White Bear School District when the school
districts have items on the ballot. This does not happen often during the even year
election cycle when voting activity is at its highest, but it does happen. It is
staff's position that the split school district scenario is better dealt with in one
voting precinct than in two (future potential for White Bear School District
residents in the current configuration of Precinct 3).
Maps are attached showing the City's current precinct alignment and the one proposed by staff.
If the Council approves the realignment, that action will be sent to the Secretary of State's office
for this final approval and implementation.
