MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
DECEMBER 9, 1999
The City Planner indicated that the Commission should have
reasons for granting the Variance. Knudsen felt that the 500-foot
separation requirement did not make a tot of sense.
The City Planner noted that Ryan Industrial Park is not intended to
be a retail site and pointed out that retail traffic would interfere
with the industrial traffic in this area.
Peterson pointed out that the auto repair businesses in Ryan
Industrial Park generate a lot of retail traffic.
Mr. Barraclough recommended approval of the Variance from
distance separation requirements for auto sales lots based on the
fact that the business location is Ryan Industrial Park, that the size
of the property is limited, that retail sales is not the primary part of
Valor's business, and conditioned that Valor Enterprises be limited
to retail sales of 100 vehicles per year, as well as approving the
Conditional Use Permit for a retail auto sales license.
Motion seconded by Kraemer.
Motion carried 4 - 3.
