These items are
essentially housekeeping items in nature.
• The first involves public uses and their definitions in the Residential, Business,
and Industrial zones. The City recently clarified the uses in the Public District,
but discovered similar issues in the other zoning classifications. This
amendment will correct those issues and make the ordinance more consistent
between districts.
+ The second involves lot size requirements in the R-B, Residential-Business
zoning district. The R-2 District allows two-family homes as permitted uses, but
varies the lot size based on the date of the construction. Older units were
permitted at a smaller lot size. When this district was updated, newer units were
required to have larger lots. However, the R-B District also allows twc-family
homes, but the later lot size requirements were not carried over to this section.
This amendment will correct this situation.
+ The third amendment addresses the DNR lake designation of Savage Lake. The
DNR designated Savage Lake as a General Development Lake, presumably
prior to the construction of 35E. When the freeway went through, the west half of
the lake was listed in the zoning ordinance, but the east half did not get a specific
reference (even though the Si~oreland Overlay district mapping included the east
4-
